Spring is in full bloom, and there’s no better way to celebrate the season than with a guided garden walk through the magnificent Vergelegen Wine Estate. Steeped in over 325 years of history, Vergelegen invites visitors to experience the vibrant colours, captivating fragrances, and timeless beauty of its world-renowned gardens from Thursday, 16 October to Saturday, 18 October 2025, between 09h00 and 11h00.
Led by expert horticultural managers Richard Arm and Chris Randlehoff, the guided spring garden walks offer an enchanting journey through the estate’s seasonal highlights. Guests will uncover the fascinating history and stories behind Vergelegen’s botanical treasures, all while picking up insider gardening tips and horticultural advice from the experts who care for this living masterpiece.

The experience includes a visit to the formal rose garden, designed in Vergelegen’s iconic octagonal layout, and the historic Octagonal Garden, which bursts with vibrant spring blooms. Visitors will stroll along paths lined with foxgloves, delphiniums, Dutch iris, salvia, poppies, and nigella, all elegantly framed by textured accent grasses that bring a painterly charm to the estate.
After the walk, guests can unwind at Café Fleur Studio, where a freshly baked scone with tea or coffee awaits. The ticket price of R295 per person includes entry to the estate, the guided tour, and this delightful refreshment.
For those with green fingers, the Potting Shed Gift Shop will host its annual plant sale, featuring homegrown Vergelegen plants—perfect for adding a touch of the estate’s magic to your own garden.
