G20 Young Entrepreneurs Summit delivers key resolutions

The Global Young Entrepreneurs Alliance delivered ground-breaking, future-focused resolutions to the G20 Presidency after three days of deliberations on moving entrepreneurship forward. The world’s young entrepreneurs appreciate the urgency of this moment and the need for coordinated global measures.

The G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (G20 YEA), a collective of global entrepreneurship organisations, convened in Sandton Convention Centre 16-20 September 2025, hosted by Young Entrepreneurs South Africa (YESA) to collate their ideas to move global entrepreneurship forward.

The G20 YEA Summit called on G20 leaders, set to meet in South Africa this November, to commit to five priority resolutions designed to accelerate inclusive economic growth, strengthen sustainability, and empower young entrepreneurs globally.

Five Key Resolutions from G20 YEA 2025

  1. Trade Certainty for Entrepreneurs
Recent global trade tariffs have heightened uncertainty for small businesses. The Alliance urges G20 leaders to prioritise trade stability and create a conducive environment for startups and SMEs to scale.
  2. Inclusive Growth & Informal Sector Integration
Entrepreneurship is a proven driver of economic inclusion. By recognising and integrating the informal sector, economies can ensure growth that is both equitable and socially impactful.
  3. Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security
With global food insecurity on the rise, young entrepreneurs are driving innovation in regenerative agriculture, logistics, distribution, and community agribusiness to secure future food systems.
  4. Global Green Economic Transition
As climate change accelerates, the transition to sustainable economic models is urgent. The Alliance believes young entrepreneurs must lead in pioneering solutions for green economies.
  5. Digital Transformation & Innovation
Technology not only fuels economic growth but also modernises industries. Young entrepreneurs are positioned to spearhead digital transformation across multiple sectors.

“As the global alliance of entrepreneurs, we arrived at these landmark resolutions by engaging with young entrepreneurs across the world in the months leading to the summit,” said Innocentia Motau, President of YESA. “We believe entrepreneurship can unlock opportunities for youth and address urgent development challenges.”

Alex Gill, Global YEA Secretariat, added:

“These resolutions are intended to accelerate action from G20 governments to grow entrepreneurs in sectors that drive inclusive economic growth, create jobs, ensure food security, and lead digital innovation.”

Deputy Minister Kenneth Morolong, who received the resolutions on behalf of President Cyril Ramaphosa, emphasised their urgency: “The issues that affect entrepreneurs must be resolved urgently if we are to uplift the economies of South Africa and the G20 countries.”

Entrepreneurship as a Catalyst for South Africa’s Economy

For South Africa, entrepreneurship offers one of the strongest solutions for economic revival. With frameworks such as the Just Energy Transition Investment Plan (JET-IP), valued at R1.5 trillion, entrepreneurship is expected to play a central role in creating jobs, ensuring energy security, and driving inclusive growth.

The G20 YEA 2025 communique will now be passed to President Ramaphosa ahead of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in November. Young entrepreneurs are calling for decisive policy commitments that prioritise youth entrepreneurship, green economies, digital transformation, and inclusive global growth.
