The South African Artificial Intelligence Association (SAAIA) has announced that Bowmans has joined its Advisory Board. SAAIA is an industry body focused on responsible AI adoption in South Africa, bringing together practitioners from the commercial, government, academic, startup, and NGO sectors. It has more than 4 800 members.

Bowmans advises clients across sectors and jurisdictions on technology matters. Its AI-related work spans the full lifecycle: strategy, governance and policy design, procurement, contracting, product development, workplace deployment, regulatory engagement, implementation, dispute resolution, and ongoing risk and compliance management.

One of the firm’s technology specialists, Heather Irvine, has been appointed by Minister Malatsi to the Independent Review Panel reviewing South Africa’s AI Policy during its drafting.
