BMW has whipped the wraps off the new limited-edition 330i Iconic Edition, though the special model appears to be exclusive to Australia.

According to CarAdvice, just 200 units will be produced for the Australian market, with the quoted price of A$81 900 (around R925 000) including a raft of extra equipment.

The 330i Iconic Edition will be offered Down Under in the choice of two exterior colours: Mineral White and Black Sapphire.

The new derivative gains what the automaker calls the “BMW Iconic Glow” grille (finished in black and complete with LED elements), along with laser high-beam headlamps, a subtle rear spoiler, a glass sunroof, carbon-fibre side-mirror caps, puddle-lamp projectors and black 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, you’ll find black Vernasca leather, heated front seats and the trademark “M” stripes on the seat belts, along with all the equipment you’d expect from the M Sport version of the standard 330i.

Like the model on which it’s based, the 330i Iconic Edition employs a turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine sending 190 kW and 400 N.m to the rear axle via an eight-speed automatic transmission. That’s enough, says the Munich-based firm, for a sprint from standstill to three figures in 5,8 seconds.

Of course, here in South Africa we have our own exclusive 330is Edition, conceived to pay tribute to the original 325is (aka the Gusheshe).
