In a landmark event celebrating African heritage, the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and the Zulu King, His Majesty Misuzulu KaZwelithini, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen economic and cultural ties between their kingdoms. The historic agreement was formalized at the KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace KwaNongoma, KwaZulu-Natal.
This significant partnership comes as the Olu of Warri was honored among the Global Reputation Forum’s 100 Most Reputable Africans, receiving the prestigious award from former South African Deputy President, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, in Johannesburg.

King Misuzulu KaZwelithini expressed optimism about the mutual benefits of the alliance, stating:

“History has a way of repeating itself. Both of us were crowned in the same year (2021), and our kingdoms hold strategic significance in Africa—Warri as the ‘trigger’ and South Africa as the ‘barrel.’ This alliance signifies a borderless Africa, united beyond political divisions.”
