Homemade Burger Recipe

This homemade burger recipe is a great way to enjoy a delicious burger without having to go out to a restaurant. The recipe yields 4 burgers and is easy to customize with your favorite seasonings, spices or toppings. You can also use different types of ground meats like turkey, chicken, lamb or pork for a different taste. Make sure to use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the burgers before serving to ensure they are cooked to a safe temperature.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio is best for burgers)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for grilling

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
  2. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions, and shape each portion into a patty.
  3. Heat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, brush the grill grates or skillet with a light coating of vegetable oil.
  4. Add the patties to the grill or skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired level of doneness.
  5. Serve the burgers on buns with your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, mayo, mustard, etc.
